On February 5th, soprano Nola Richardson makes her debut with Opera Lafayette as Fraarte in a stunning production of Handel’s Radamisto. Particularly noted for her interpretive skills in the Baroque repertoire, Nola’s 2018-2019 season will also feature her debuts with The English Concert, The Baroque Chamber Orchestra of Colorado, and Musica Sacra. She will return to perform with Clarion, The Baltimore Choral Arts Society, Seraphic Fire, and The American Bach Soloists.
For the first time, Opera Lafayette brings its original perspective to a repertoire favorite of Handel, a drama about the taming of a powerful and ambitious king. Opera Lafayette performs the work in its first version, complete with dances at the end of the acts and with members of the Seán Curran dance company integrated as actors into the complete production.
